#1 New England Off To A Bad Start

The Projected #1 New England Militia with home field advantage to start off the season, faced off against the #6 Projected team The Miami Thunder. The game got off to a terrible start for the Militia with a 25 point deficit trailing 31 to 6 in the first half. Ronde Masso the Militia's best receiver had 1 catch for a TD the first half and was targeted and picked off by CB Austin Byrd in the 2nd Quarter.

Heading into the locker room, Head Coach David Stalworth said " We Simply have to play with some ergency! We're Giving up way too many points, were not scoring, and we can't seem to get Ashmore into his rythme to pass the ball effectively and give it to our all pro-receiver Masso. Best believe we will come out with a better game plan and a will to win in the 2nd half and win this game at home like we should." And that just what they did... almost.

They came out hot on their first 2nd half drive, but had to settle with a field goal, but the team's defense spiked their momentum and came up with the stops they needed to get back in the game. The Offense of Miami did not score a single point the second half. The offense for the Militia was heating up and sticking to their game plan of passing the ball and boy did it payoff. Ashmore found Masso for 2 more TD passes to come within a touchdown from coming back and sending the game into overtime. With 2:54 seconds left in the game with the Militia within 7, the defense had to just get one more stop. Miami Running Back Sam Rowland was able to continue running the ball effectively for

1st downs and clienched the game with a 6 yard first down run on 2nd & 6 with 44 seconds left on the clock. New England had no timeouts and The Miami Thunder went on to win the game with an upset on the road against the #1 New England Militia. Sam Rowland won Player of the Game helping them with the upset having 25 carries for 134 yards and a touchdown. Militia's QB James Ashmore was 24 for 31 with passes completed and 270 yards passing with 3 touchdown passes and 2 interceptions. Masso had 6 receptions for 154 yards and 3 TD's. Rough night in New England for the Militia as they start out the season (0-1).
